Carmody & Torrance Welcomes Four New Associates

Carmody & Torrance proudly welcomes four new associates: John Cordani, Jr., Christopher Lisi, Lucas Meyer and Saima Zuberi. All four were summer associates at Carmody & Torrance, and Saima was a participant in the Northeast Utilities Legal Department-Carmody & Torrance Diversity Scholar program.

John L. Cordani, Jr., a member of our litigation group, received his law degree summa cum laude from Cornell Law School, where he was an editor of the Cornell Law Review and was elected to Order of the Coif. He received his B.A. from Cornell University magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, with majors in Chemistry and Philosophy. John was a Summer Associate at Carmody & Torrance in 2009; in the summer of 2010, John was a Summer Associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York City.

Christopher J. Lisi, a member of our litigation group, received his law degree from the University Connecticut School of Law. Following his first year of law school, Chris worked as a student law clerk in the Legal Department at Northeast Utilities. He received his B.A. from the University of Connecticut summa cum laude, with a major in Political Science and a minor in Sociology.

Lucas C. Meyer, a member of our business services group, received his law degree from the University Connecticut School of Law, with honors, where he was the Senior Articles Editor of the Public Interest Law Journal. Luke completed a legal internship with the U.S. Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources Division, Environmental Enforcement Section, and served as a judicial clerk for Judge Carl Schuman at the Waterbury Superior Court. He received his B.A. in English Language and Literature from Yale University and his Master’s degree in English from the University of Oregon.

Saima J. Zuberi, a member of our litigation group, received her law degree from The George Washington University School of Law, where she was a member of the Public Contract Law Journal. During law school, Saima served as a judicial intern for the Hon. Peter J. Messitte of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland; as a Bracewell Fellow, Trial Practice, in the D.C. office of Bracewell & Giuliani; as an intern in the Office of the General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Energy; and as a summer associate in the Northeast Utilities/Carmody & Torrance Diversity Scholar program Saima received her B.A. from Emory University with a major in Psychology, and a minor in Spanish.
