Bill is a trial attorney with almost 30 years of experience. He has successfully tried several cases to verdict before the Connecticut Superior Court and United States District Court, and has successfully argued matters before the Connecticut Supreme Court and Connecticut Appellate Court. In 2019, Bill obtained his Certificate of Special Education Advocacy from the William & Mary Law School Institute of Special Education Advocacy, an intensive program focused on providing families with the legal and practical advice needed to navigate special education challenges. In addition to advocating on behalf of his own clients, Bill has been selected by fellow attorneys to serve as an arbitrator in litigation matters.
Bill is a member of the firm’s Healthcare team and routinely represents hospitals, physicians and other healthcare providers in the defense of medical malpractice actions. He has experience defending complex cases involving wrongful death, delayed diagnosis of cancer, surgical complications and psychiatric claims. Bill has provided risk management counseling to hospitals and individual healthcare professionals in such areas as HIPAA compliance, professional licensing, medical records and issues relating to the treatment of minor patients. Bill has also represented healthcare professionals in the defense of investigations by the Department of Public Health and has conducted in-house seminars on various risk management topics.
Bill is also a member of the firm’s Personal Injury team, representing individuals who have suffered serious injuries or death as a result of the negligent conduct of others. His personal injury cases typically involve automobile and truck collisions, motorcycle accidents, pedestrian accidents, defective premises, dram shop liability, defective products and construction accidents.
Bill also represents employers in the defense of workers’ compensation claims. He has litigated workers’ compensation matters at the informal, pre-formal and formal hearing levels throughout the State, and he has argued workers’ compensation appeals before the Compensation Review Board. Bill has extensive experience in defending workers’ compensation discrimination and wrongful termination claims brought pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes § 31-290a.
