Vincent is Co-chair of the Labor & Employment group, maintaining a versatile practice in the areas of labor and employment and general corporate law. Vincent’s clients include closely held and public businesses, non-profit organizations, independent schools, municipalities, and start-ups; in many cases, acting as clients’ general counsel.
Vincent’s labor and employment practice focuses on counseling and advising employers on all aspects of the employment relationship. He works with clients to manage risks and formulate strategies to avoid litigation and to comply with regulatory obligations. Vincent regularly represents employers in mediations, arbitrations, labor negotiations, contract negotiations and defends employers before administrative agencies such as the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, National Labor Relations Board, State Board of Labor Relations and federal and state Departments of Labor. Vincent is frequently invited by employers and industry groups to speak and present training seminars on a variety of common employment issues.
Vincent also regularly represents clients in many other aspects of their operations, including entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions and leasing, contracts and corporate governance matters.

Acts as outside general counsel on all employment and corporate related matters to several large wholesale distribution companies operating throughout the Northeast and mid-Atlantic.
Represented a municipal employer in connection with three concurrent union organization campaigns covering three bargaining units and successfully negotiated “first contract” collective bargaining agreements with all three unions.
Regularly represent employers and executives in negotiation of employment, severance and other executive compensation agreements.
Represented national consulting company in corporate, contracts, and licensing issues.
Successfully represented regional symphony orchestra in objection to petition filed by labor union to represent orchestra musicians. Obtained dismissal of petition by State Board of Labor Relations on the grounds that musicians were properly classified as independent contractors and therefore not covered by State Labor Relations Act.
Conducted an extensive “top to bottom” human resources audit for a leading manufacturer of defibrillators, then worked with the client to develop strategy for implementation of numerous recommended changes.
Negotiated and documented labor and employment related provisions in numerous M&A transactions, including the sale of a subsidiary of one of the largest utility companies in the United States and the sale of a non-profit private school to a for-profit entity.
Regularly drafts employment agreements, handbooks and other employment-related documents on behalf of employers.
Obtained numerous dismissals and negotiated settlements of CHRO and EEOC complaints alleging various claims of discrimination against for-profit and non-profit employers.
Successfully negotiated settlement of sexual harassment complaint involving chief executive of company.
Successfully represented a software company in a wage and hour audit by the State of Connecticut Department of Labor.
