Waterbury, Connecticut (October 15, 2024) — Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey LLP is pleased to announce the return of Susan L. Henebry to the firm’s Education group. Susan was previously a partner with Carmody, representing for-profit and not-for-profit clients on corporate matters including corporate governance and operations, contracts, employment law and real estate. Her practice will resume focus on issues facing educational institutions and corporate clients.
Susan most recently was General Counsel at The Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut, a private independent boarding school where she handled the school’s legal matters and was responsible for its risk management. Susan’s expertise includes representing and counseling independent schools on all facets of education law, including risk mitigation, student issues, employment matters, tax-exempt financing, crisis management, internal investigations, and nonprofit governance. She gained significant experience addressing the risks facing schools through her role as the Vice President of the Nutmeg Education Consortium and as a member of the United Educators Legal Advisory Committee.
